Un maniaque, se faisant appeler "Minos" (Adalberto Maria MERLI) sème la terreur auprès de femmes à Paris. Le Commissaire Letellier (Jean-Paul BELMONDO) et son adjoint (Charles DENNER) entreprennent la poursuite de Minos. Un bon film, certes un peu désuet, mais ... à la "Bébel" !

A maniac named "Minos" (Adalberto Maria MERLI) is spreading terror among women in Paris. Commissaire Letellier (Jean-Paul BELMONDO) and his assistant (Charles DENNER) begin to chase Minos. A true suspense movie ... Belmondo style !

L'action finale fait appel à une Alouette III de la Gendarmerie. Le Commissaire Letellier (Jean-Paul BELMONDO) est treuillé le long de la façade du gratte-ciel dans lequel s'est retranché Minos et ses otages. Il entamme un mouvement de balancement afin de briser une vitre de l'immeuble pour s'y introduire. Il est assez improbable que la seconde partie de cette scène ait été réalisée à l'aide du treuil de l'Alouette. En effet, celle-ci est équipée d'un treuil de 25 mètres et, à l'image, l'hélicoptère semble beaucoup plus haut. D'autre part, induire un mouvement de balancier au bout d'un treuil n'est pas sans effet sur la stabilité de l'hélicoptère. Enfin, il est très difficile pour un pilote de pouvoir maintenir une altitude au mètre près hors effet de sol et pratiquement sans repères proches. Pourtant, Belmondo s'introduit du premier coup par la bonne fenêtre, celle de la pièce où se trouve Minos ... Par la suite, quatre gendarmes du GIGN descendent en rappel de l'Alouette sur le toit du gratte-ciel. Ici, visiblement, il n'y a aucun trucage et l'image est d'ailleurs assez impressionnante.

A Gendarmerie Alouette III is used for the final action of the movie. Commissaire Letellier (Jean-Paul BELMONDO) is winched along the skyscraper façade where Minos is entrenched with his hostages. He starts a swing movement to break a window and penetrate inside the building. It seems unlikely that this second part of the last action has been realised with the Alouette hoist. As a matter of fact, the Alouette is fitted with a 25 meter hoist and the helicopter appears much higher on the screen. Then inducing a swing movement at the end of a hoist cable cannot be without any effect on the aircraft stability. At last, it is very difficult for a pilot to maintain an altidude within a meter when the helicopter is out of ground effect and with almost no practical close visual references. But Belmondo penetrates inside the building at first attemp through the right window ... where Minos is staying. Four GIGN policemen abseil down later from the Alouette on the skyscraper. It seems that there are no special effects in this action. It is really impressive on the screen.
