Dragon 74

F-ZBBP is on stand-by at Les Bois Landing Zone on February 19, 1989. At that time a "Dragon 74" Alouette III was sent from Annecy to Chamonix for 7 days of duty every two weeks. It was then Megeve based "Bravo-Lima" Alouette III to move to Chamonix during the other week. Photo Pierre GILLARD.

Securite Civile has still preserved 6 Alouette III's in operational status during 2006 due to a lack of available EC145's. F-ZBDJ registered SA316B (s/n 1879) was pictured by Pierre FOURQUET in Annecy-Meythet on June 2nd, 2006.

With the combined presence of Dragon 74's F-ZBFM Alouette III (MSN 1280) and Gendarmerie's F-MJBX Alouette III (MSN 1693) that came from SAG of Lyon, the Jean-Jacques Mollaret Base offered like a sight of the past. Pierre FOURQUET took those pictures on March 8, 2007.

Alouette III F-ZBFM (MSN 1280) seen during the open door event, which took place at Rescue Base Jean-Jacques Mollaret on June 14, 2008. She was pictured that day by Pierre FOURQUET. This Alouette will be implied in an incident on August 22, 2008, when her blades will contact a rock face on the eastern side of Les Grands Capucins above 3600 meters of altitude during a winching. Fortunately, her crew will be able to manage a safe landing on a glacier at La Combe Maudite, which stands at 3300 meters. All main components will be then removed from the helicopter and slinged down to the valley by a Securite Civile's EC145. Two days later, a French Air Force Cazaux-based Cougar will lift down the Alouette to Chamonix.
