SE 3130 ALOUETTE II No. 01

50 years after her first flight with Jean BOULET at her controls on March 12, 1955, she is still there in good shape ! When all flight tests were completed by her manufacturer, Alouette II No. 01 has continued her life at the Bretigny established Flight Test Center (Centre d'Essais en Vol) where she carried F-ZLAS registration. She was pictured in a deserved rest by Pierre GILLARD on July 19, 2005 at the Musée de l'Air et de l'Espace, which is located at Le Bourget Airport. However, a more powerfull lightning would certainly better show her to advantage.

JUNE 2nd, 2007 : Delivery of Gendarmerie's F-MJBL Alouette III

Friends of "Bravo-Lima" were gathered for her arrival in one of the World's most beautiful aviation museum. This helicopter, which was based all her life in the Alps in Megève and Chamonix first, then in Briançon, has saved numerous people in difficulty. Than came the time for her last flight to the museum's shops.

This picture sequence has been taken by Philippe BOULAY.

SE 3101

This light single seat helicopter was assembled with some parts taken out from a tandem-rotor Focke F61. The rotor head that was used and installed on the SE3101 was in fact the clockwise running-one. That is the reason why all subsequent French helicopters have their main rotor running clockwise. Developments and tests conducted on the SE3101 gave birth to the SE3110 (that was unofficially known as Burette à huile-oilcan) and SE3120 Alouette I.

Only one SE3101 prototype was built and performed 20 flight hours between June 1948 and January 1950. Pictures of that helicopter, which was registered as F-WFDQ, were taken at Le Bourget established museum on July 19, 2005, by Pierre GILLARD.
