This Lama (s/n 2558) was brought to Costa Rica in parts and was reassembled by a Costa Rican company called HELICORP based in Pavas (MRPV). The photos were taken by Daniel UMANA (www.aviacioncr.net) on the day of its first flight in Costa Rica (May 3rd 2006), after being stored for over a year. It is the first helicopter reassembled by HELICORP, and it seems they did a great job. You can see the technician with the stroboscope of the blade tracking system. The Lama was registered as N74L by Nampa Valley Helicopters Inc. of Boise, ID. It was then canceled from register on May 25, 2006, according to FAA files. It was previously owned by the Chilean Army with serial 168 and was once operated in East Timor during UNTAET mission. Click on the picture to get a larger printable PDF version. |
