| Démonstration de l'Alouette II F-WLKG de la Gendarmerie et de l'Alouette III F-BLGG de Sud-Aviation aux autorités portuaires d'Hambourg - Test at the Elbmündung Hamburg-Brunsbüttel on 24th September 1963. The Alouette III is demonstrating a winch operation at the Rescue-Coast-Guard-Ship "Ruhrstahl" of the german rescue organisation so called DGzRS (Deutsche Gesellschaft zur Rettung Schiffbrüchiger). By the way one has to mention that rescue operations by helicopters were of great importance in february 1962 : over 300 citizens of Hamburg lost their lives due to the great storm tide and the former Minister of the Interior of Hamburg - Helmut Schmidt who was German Chancellor (1974-1982) managed this crisis by a task force of the Bundeswehr, Bundesgrenzschutz and the Allied Forces with many helicopters in operation rescuing many lives. Hamburg never forgot Helmut Schmidt's efforts. |
