La Flottille 34F est créée le 9 septembre 1974 sur la BAN Saint-Raphaël où elle demeure quelques mois avant de déménager à Lanvéoc-Poulmic en décembre 1974. Elle utilise des Alouette III entre septembre 1974 et juillet 1980, moment où elle n'opère plus que des Lynx. La Flottille est brièvement mise en sommeil entre le 4 septembre 2020 et le 22 janvier 2021 lorsque l'Escadrille 22S et son EHSE (École de spécialisation sur hélicoptères embarqués) deviennent la 34F/EHSE. À ce moment, elle perçoit les dernières Alouette III de la Marine ainsi que des Dauphin N3. Les derniers vols d'Alouette III sont effectués à Lanvéoc-Poulmic en décembre 2022 avant leur retrait définitif du service. Flotilla 34F was established on September 9, 1974, at the Saint-Raphaël Naval Air Station, where it remained for a few months before relocating to Lanvéoc-Poulmic in December 1974. It operated Alouette III helicopters from September 1974 until July 1980, at which point it switched exclusively to the Lynx. The flotilla was briefly placed in a dormant state between September 4, 2020, and January 22, 2021, when Squadron 22S and its EHSE (Carrier-based Helicopter Specialization School) merged to become the 34F/EHSE unit. At that time, it took delivery of the Navy's final Alouette III aircraft as well as Dauphin N3s. The last Alouette III flights took place at Lanvéoc-Poulmic in December 2022, prior to the type's final withdrawal from service. |

PACIFIC OCEAN (July 15, 2022) Sailors assigned to French Navy frigate FS Prairial (F731), fast rope from a French Alouette III helicopter on to the flight deck of Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Gridley (DDG 101) for a visit, board, search and seizure (VBSS) exercise during Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) 2022. Twenty-six nations, 38 ships, four submarines, more than 170 aircraft and 25,000 personnel are participating in RIMPAC from June 29 to Aug. 4 in and around the Hawaiian Islands and Southern California. The world's largest international maritime exercise, RIMPAC provides a unique training opportunity while fostering and sustaining cooperative relationships among participants critical to ensuring the safety of sea lanes and security on the world's oceans.
